Listen to intuition

The Collaborative Mind of Arts & Maths together with the mathematicians Klemens Fellner and Karin Baur and the composer Tamara Friebel provides insights into the interweaving of mathematical and artistic thought patterns from current research in Graz.

Artistic Group Tuition.

The role of intuition in forming creative flow.

Content

A semester of research/workshop into various ways that Intuition has been formed over the ages.  I propose a model of artistic research – reverse engineering – and artistic creation - where through the juxtaposition of certain works (composition, books, architecture) a particular theme and its underlying intuitive force will be explored. Intuition has often been designated a feministic force, and is widely understood in spiritual mystic paths as imperative to the balance of creative energies in order to create new artistic endeavours.

Goal

You will be able to evaluate and articulate how intuition brings form to an artistic work: through literature analysis (Virginia Woolf, A room of One’s own) to score analysis (Xenakis, Metastaseis) to sound installation (Varese, Philips Pavilion) and architecture (Zaha Hadid, Pavilion for Bach). You will learn to apply your own mind-map of intuition to a chosen artistic project. (composition, installation, text, architecture, etc).
